Age Verification & Bladed Products Policy

Under the UK Criminal Justice Act 1988 and the Offensive Weapons Act 2019, it is an offense to sell bladed items—including kitchen knives, pocket knives, and culinary tools—to anyone under the age of 18. The Considered Kitchen operates a strict compliance process to ensure all sales strictly adhere to UK law.

Age Verification at Checkout To comply with legal requirements and payment gateway standards:

  • Age Gate Check: You must confirm you are 18 years of age or older before completing your order.

  • Automated Identity Checks: At checkout, your name, address, and date of birth may be cross-referenced against official public records (such as the electoral roll or credit databases) using secure, automated age-verification software.

  • Additional Documentation: If automated verification cannot confirm your age, our team will contact you to request a valid photo ID (Passport or UK Driving License) before your order can be processed or dispatched. Orders that fail age verification will be canceled and refunded.

Age-Verified Delivery (AVD) In accordance with the Offensive Weapons Act 2019:

  • All shipments containing bladed items are sent via an Age-Verified Delivery service.

  • Deliveries must be accepted in person by an adult aged 18 or over.

  • The courier will request valid photo identification (Challenge 25 policy) upon delivery. Parcels will not be left in safe places, delivered to automated lockers,  shed locations, or handed to anyone under 18.
